People Are People

sir-john-cc-LGBT-History-month-1

People’s sexuality are still challenged to this day, I don’t think you will ever be able to find a person that is satisfied with everyone’s chosen sexuality. As the world has become more accepting of different sexualities across all nations, more and more people seem to have different sexual orientations e.g. lesbian, gay, bisexual, pansexual, transgender. There are so many more varieties of people’s sexual preferences and it amazes me that so many alternative things could be thought of. Everyone has different tastes to one another which is what a lot of homophobic people must learn, understand and appreciate.

“Love knows no limits”. Love doesn’t need to be controlled by the law. I think that as long as whatever relationship you are in with another person, whether male or female, as long as you two are happy and have a healthy relationship together, there is no reason as to why people should be against it. Gay or straight, everybody deserves to be happy. We are all humans, meaning that we are entitled to our human rights. “Everyone is entitled to all the rights and freedoms set forth in this Declaration, without distinction of any kind, such as race, colour, sex, language, religion, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status.” There is more to this article but I would like to point out that everyone is entitled to their own rights and freedoms, the list shows what we as the human race are entitled to, homophobic people shouldn’t take that right away from anyone. In fact, no human should be allowed to invade anyone else’s rights. LGBT rights are human rights too. Marriage is also a human right, “men and women of full age, without any limitation due to race, nationality or religion, have the right to marry and to found a family.” Why should the law be different for a gay, lesbian, bisexual etc person, we are all equal humans. Aren’t we?

I’m not gay but I do support gay rights because I believe in freedom of love. I believe that just because someone else prefers something different to us then why should they be discriminated against. We all have our different opinions on other things in life so why should sexuality be just a big argument, their choices aren’t harming you or causing you any distress. They shouldn’t be pressured by society and the media because they have a different view on something.

Unfortunately, same sex marriage still isn’t legal everywhere in the world, but people are continuously fighting for that fight and I hope that one day, people will be able to live in a world where everyone is equal.

I hope that this may have given you a different perspective on gay rights and that maybe you’ll perhaps think about other people’s sexuality and that you shouldn’t judge them.

Arguments

Anger-1

We’ve all had arguments at some point in our lives whether it be a small one or a big one, that may have impacted our lives now. Whatever they are about, there is also a consequence.  Whenever two people or a group of people have different opinions about something, occasionally it can turn into a debate. Whether it is a calm or violent one is the difference.

Some people tend to lose their temper when their opinion isn’t validated which can sometimes cause swearing and possibly other actions. Although because the person cannot keep control at the time of the situation, they tend to regret their actions. Arguments can happen anywhere, anytime and with anyone. Unfortunately, a lot of people have arguments about things for example there has been a lot of disagreements about gay marriage but I won’t go into depth with that topic.

I have witnessed arguments; the main cause of them is bitching. If you’re a girl, then you will understand. I don’t know why girls talk about each other behind each other’s backs but it just seems to come naturally. We begin judging others at a young age, mostly because of jealousy. Unfortunately, many of us girls do find it hard to not have an argument but I prefer not to start anything because I think that arguments are pointless and just results with you having more enemies.

I don’t know what the situation is like with boys when they have arguments but what I have seen is that the boys have a fight and that is the end of it. Sometimes, I wish girls could get things over and done like this, you also get to realise all your anger too. I’m assuming boys would argue over something like who’s the best football team or other sport team, a girl that everyone wants to go out with or if someone has been bad mouthing their family. You may not think it but I’ve seen that when someone one boy insults another boy’s family, they do get easily annoyed. Most of the time, the guy being offended will punch etc the other person.

Debates can sometimes be constructed in a sensible manner. In some particular school subjects, we have debates for example we had one about whether capital punishment should be illegal or legal? When we have debates about topics like this, we are split into two sides (for or against the statement). Each side has a turn to make a point that they think is important, it can get frustrating when you disagree with the opposing side because you cannot scream or shout at them as we may in other arguments.

Hopefully, today’s blog has made you seen arguments in a different light. Next Wednesday is Christmas Eve so I’ll be writing a Christmas Special!

Peer Pressure

drugsGen_peerpressure1

I apologise for not writing my blog last week, I had an unexpected shift at work but no need to dwell on that. Today I have chosen to write about peer pressure as this was previously brought up earlier in the week and I think this is a reason as to why teens choose to do what they do.

Most teens are peer pressured to do something or try something new, in some cases the person being pressured wants to try whatever they are being pressured into and sometimes use the pressure as an excuse. Friends can sometimes encourage you to do bad things like smoke, drink, commit crimes etc. If your friends do pressure you or make you feel uncomfortable then you should know when to tell them to stop and perhaps you shouldn’t talk to them anymore. If they push your boundaries and don’t  know when to stop, then you should tell them and put them in their place. No one should ever make you feel awkward or uncomfortable in a situation especially a friend. You know where the line is and if it’s necessary, you should have to tell them.

Occasionally, people will give into peer pressure because they want to fit in with everyone else. Some people think being different is bad and that we should all be the same but that makes life boring. Another reason why people may give in is because people are afraid to lose their friends. If they were your real friends, they would respect and understand when they have crossed the line. You shouldn’t be ashamed or embarrassed to say no. You don’t have to be in a situation where you feel awkward, everyone has limits whether they are stronger than others, no one’s self respect should be taken away. “Good friends will respect your individuality”.

The media can sometimes also affect peer pressure. More and more things are becoming acceptable in magazines, on the TV etc, women and men’s bodies are being exposed more. I think because of this, teens think it is okay to push people to their limits and beyond. They don’t realise how people feel and think about the exposure and abuse towards teens because of the media, people don’t realise how much of an effect it has on this generation.

Your friends can teach you a lot about yourself, they help you develop and learn more things about you that you may not have known without their help. Friends can help you, support and motivate you to succeed with anything in life. However, some friends can influence you to do bad things because of peer pressure.

I hope today’s blog was an interesting read for you.

Remembrance Day

music-of-remembrance-1334754706-view-0

Yesterday was Remembrance Day also known as Armistice, Memorial or Poppy Day. In case, you didn’t know why the day is significant it is because it is the day that we remember all the armed forces who died for us after World War One and who continuously fight for our freedom and human rights.

Across the world, it is celebrated, every country hold a celebration differently. In the United Kingdom, we wear the poppy, donate money to the Royal British Legion which is a charity that offers help and welfare to the serving and ex-service men, women and their families. Countries across the world have the two minutes of silence to remind ourselves of what the soldiers then and now do for us and their country. The silence is held on the eleventh month on the eleventh day of the eleventh hour.

I think it’s important to remember now how much the world has changed and evolved since the First World War. For example, equality, a lot women join the armed forces nowadays which I think is commendable of them because unfortunately there are still some sexist people in this world. Honestly, sometimes at school, boys still comment about girl’s actions like if we can’t do something correctly, throw or kick a ball as good as them. They then normally comment “you throw/kick like a girl”, “it’s just because you’re a girl”. It annoys me so much because we are just as capable as them, us girls can show them up. I would love to prove how strong and independent we are as a gender.

Today, I thought about why we only think about the troops for one day out of the three hundred and sixty five we have because the people that have left their families, friends and lives at home go out to fight for their nation, which contains a large quantity of people that they’ll never meet. I think these people deserve more than we actually think.

Whenever we have our silence, which is normally at school, there is always at least one inconsiderate person who speaks or laughs. I don’t understand why this person or group of people cannot keep their trap shut for two minutes and to think about the men and women who have fought or who are fighting for us.

This has been a little bit of a rant but I think it is important to write about these kind of things.

As always, thanks for reading.

Should We Fight For Our Beliefs?

skeletal-debate

As I attend a school full of pre-teens and teenagers, a lot of them are insecure about stating their passions because they may not have enough self-confidence to stand up for their beliefs. Occasionally I pass by a group of people, I often overhear someone’s opinion being put down; someone else in their group is discriminating against their opinion. Unfortunately, a small fraction actually stand up for their belief. Hopefully today I can inspire you or help you to gain confidence to not be ashamed or what you like.

If the topic of something you are passionate about comes up in a conversation between you and a group of friends or people you have just met, you should make it obvious that you like the topic whether it be religion, music or something else. I also think standing up for your beliefs shows that you are a strong capable character who is not afraid to speak out above the others. Before you get to expressing your interests, you must have a good confidence because it is hard to talk about what you love in front of others.

I don’t know how it came to me but some stage in my life recently, it got to point where I didn’t care about what others thought of me. I think it takes something big to give you that extra push to not caring about what others think. I’m not sure how this situation occurred but it eventually happened; I’m glad that I can openly talk about what I love and not give a damn about what other people think. I might sound up myself but I’m not, there are also other positives when standing up for your beliefs. I think it is a valuable quality especially if you are in the right workplace because it shows that you are a passionate person who can fight for their beliefs. It also shows that you are strong and that you have confidence.

It is important not to get to cocky and don’t forget that other people will have different opinions to you, it also takes a mature person to accept other people’s view and to take them into consideration. Keep going and stand up for your beliefs because who will? “Be a lover not fighter, but always fight for what you love.”

I hope that you are feeling a little more inspired or confident even if you don’t I hope that you take this into consideration and that this has had a positive outlook for you. Thanks for reading xoxo

Be YOUnique

Being-Different-Difference-520-1

Just to begin with this is my 50th blog post! It’s safe to say I have come a long way since February and a lot of things have happened since then but nevertheless I’m glad that I decided to post my first blog and couldn’t be happier with that decision. Without further ado, I shall carry on with my usual blog.

I’ve been thinking recently about this topic and thought about when I was younger, I do have to admit I think I did try to fit in with everybody else but soon after time it came to me that I didn’t have to pretend to be someone else because I knew other people that were like me and I’m glad I came out of my shell because I found a great group of friends once I started acting like my true self.

I guess you could use my experience if you think you are trying to fit in but you know it’s not going to work. After all, someone will suss you out, you might as well break free now instead of people thinking you are a fake person etc. If you do decide to, there will be someone there, that’ll accept you for you and eventually once you find a group of friends, you’ll be glad that you made this decision. Hopefully, other people will see that this is working so they will decide to do the same and you never know you may inspire someone else to do the same thing.

Personally, I don’t understand why some people want to do act like some they aren’t because you spend time being someone you aren’t, having to like things you might actually despise, the list goes on. Society tells us to be ourselves, yet when we come out with our true personalities and likes, we are judged. Don’t be scared to be yourself, even if you think no one will like you, sooner or later you will find someone that will appreciate you for YOU. People around you might be also thinking about this, whether to be themselves or not, if they do then the best thing to do is to show that you respect them because you’d want the same if you were in that situation.

I”m glad to say that I’ve got a good group of friends that have helped me through everything recently. You want to find friends that’ll help you too because they could help you later in life when least expected. To all my friends that are reading, you know who you are and I thank you for everything that you have done for me and helped me with.

I hope you can make the right decision in the end and find the right people to be around with. Thanks for reading xoxo

10 Daily Reminders!

IMG_4202

I feel like doing something different today. Here I commence with my 10 daily reminders to you.

1. Smile!- even if you are having a rough day (trust me I’ve experienced them). Try to smile because you don’t own all the problems in the world.

2. It doesn’t matter what others think- it really doesn’t matter what others think. If people are talking about your clothing, looks or whatever. Flaunt it, they must be envying you if they are talking about. You shouldn’t be ashamed of being of you, so enjoy yourself!

3. Don’t look back- don’t think about the embarrassing thing that happened yesterday or what happened in your relationship a year ago, the past is in the past and it should stay there. Take everything one day at a time.

4. You are human- no one is perfect, you will make mistakes but don’t dwell on them move on. You won’t always be happy but you know what c’est la vie (see what I did there).

5. Don’t give up- fight for what you think is right and for what you love. When you feel weak or that you are losing, remind yourself what you are fighting for.

6. You are beautiful- don’t listen to the haters. You are beautiful, whether that is appearance wise or personality, every person is beautiful in their own way.

7. Not everyone is judging you- not every single person you come across is judging you. Remember that everyone else on this Earth feels as insecure as you do.

8. You are enough- we’ve all doubted ourselves once or twice in our life, but we can’t change ourselves in order to impress someone. You shouldn’t change yourself in order to impress someone, be who you are. “Be your own voice, not an echo”.

9. You aren’t always in control- unfortunately, we don’t control life, it controls us but sometimes it’s for the best. You can’t predict when something will or should happen so don’t kick yourself when you do have bad days because we all have them.

10. Be fearless- is there ever something in life you regret? Bite the bullet and just go for it because you’ll never know what will happen until you do it. If you don’t do it then, you’ll think about what would’ve happened if you did do it. Don’t live in regret, be fearless.

I hope you enjoyed this blog and remember some of these things during your work or school days. Next week will be a special blog as it is my birthday next Tuesday so be prepared. Thanks for reading xoxo
