The True Meaning Of Christmas?

I thought that this was the right time to write about something like this. Before, I begin whatever I may say that what I think the true meaning of Christmas means doesn’t mean that I’m right everyone will have a different opinion to me maybe because of religion or just even personal thoughts. Despite what I think Christmas means, I do not mean to imply that my interpretation is correct. Everyone has their own opinion and is entitled to one.

Occasionally, around this time of year, you often hear people usually older generations saying that we do not know the true meaning of Christmas but we all have different ideas of what Christmas should be like. Technology is often used an excuse, I can guarantee that at least one person in each household would receive a gadget. Most children care more about the presents rather than anything else but as we grow up we realise what it was like to be a child during Christmas. It was amazing, the excitement of Santa, his reindeer etc. As you grow up, reality kicks in and you start to lose interest. This might not be necessarily true for everyone but for some it may. During Christmas, children grow up thinking about the presents, what they’ll get, whose present is better than whose. We can’t always blame the children though, society and media is evolving quickly. Material items are being portrayed to be more important rather than family, friends, memories etc. As a result of this, children do start to forget the true meaning of Christmas.

It is a different story if you are religious, for Christians I know that the birth of Jesus is why we celebrate this holiday but for other religions e.g. Judaism I am not 100% sure of the meaning of Hanukkah (apologies if I have misspelled). When I was younger, I remember being taught that presents weren’t why Christmas was important but that Jesus, our loved ones etc were the reason. I guess as you grow up you start to realise the true meaning of all of this. No matter what you believe in, we all have an idea of what Christmas, Hanukkah, Eid etc should be like.

As I have matured, I think Christmas means when you come to realise all the things you have and to be grateful and appreciate what you have rather than what you don’t. To cherish all your family and friends as others may not be able to do so.

I hope you enjoyed this blog, thank you to all my readers and I hope you have a great time celebrating whatever festivity you celebrate and have a happy new year!

Before I go, I am going on holiday from tomorrow, I may not be able to post until the week of January the 5th. If I’m not able to write, I will write a huge blog about my holiday!

Thanks for reading

A Little Update

This is a blog a little out of the blue but there is a point to it. I’m leaving for a holiday tomorrow at 3am so I thought I’d let you all know that I won’t be able to access any Wi-Fi for the three weeks while I’m gone. Unfortunately, there won’t be any new blogs for three weeks. You can always read my previous ones, think of suggestions for a new blog, comment them and as soon as I get back, I’ll check for requests. I also promise to write a really good blog after my holiday and I’ll include some pictures and stories from my holiday!

I hope that you all understand and appreciate this situation. Thanks for reading xoxo

What I Love…

Screen Shot 2014-07-16 at 17.06.42

I thought I’d write about some of my personal interests if any of you wanted to know a little more about me and if not then oh well! If any of the things that I like and you don’t then that is fine because you are entitled to your own opinion but if you like some things that I do then great! I’m going to include the everyday things that I love like food, moments in life, music and more. Here I commence and enjoy!

Music- If you have read my previous blog (if not, you should check it out after this) then you’ll know that my music taste is rock but there is a little twist I do also like 5SOS which I’m sure most of you have heard of. Rock songs have so many different stories and meanings behind them, I can guarantee whatever rock song you find on YouTube will have a meaning to it and just listen out for the lyrics.Don’t get me wrong I do love my rock bands and as soon as someone disrespects any of my bands, they’ll be having it. I love 5SOS because they aren’t completely pop, they are punk and rock too which is another reason as to why I like them and also their genuine personalities, fashion sense and looks.

Food- This probably seems like a stupid thing to write about but it’s one of many of things that I love and food is just… I can’t describe it! You’ve got so many different kinds of foods that you can try and enjoy. I love traditional British meals e.g. Sunday roast dinner, which is roasted chicken and potatoes with a selection of vegetables, gravy and a yorkshire pudding. I love sweet and savoury foods and a good thing about my body is that I have a high metabolism which means I can eat as much as I want. If you asked me what my favourite food was I couldn’t just give you one answer because there are so many foods that I love like spaghetti bolognese, chicken chow mien, pizza, nutella, dried mango, grapes and so much more!

Everyday things- I love it when I wake up in the morning and when my bedroom window is open because it brings in a breeze of cold, fresh air and I just love snuggling up in my duvet when I feel it, it might just be me but let me know if you love this feeling too. After a long tiring day, I like reflect on the day on the journey home and just think about what has happened, what I enjoyed and anything I need to do to improve tomorrow. I also love jumping onto my bed after school,  I just kick my shoes off, run up the stairs, drop my back and collapse onto my bed, perfection!

Personal things- I love it when someone shows me that they love or care about me because it just reassures me that I’m not alone in this world and that I do have access to people who can support me and I can trust them with my issues.

Holidays- Now I’m sure that everyone loves holidays and I especially love them because it’s where I can relax and forget everything bad that has happened and last of all have fun and explore the country!

Lazy days- Don’t you just love lazy days, chilling, movie marathons and lie-ins. My favourite films to watch are comedies and action films. I don’t seem to know a lot of people that like action films but one of the reasons as to why I like them is because I remember my dad watched them around me and I started to watch them with him. Watching action films are one of my favourite things to do with my dad.

YouTubers- What can I say, if you know me well enough you’ll know that I love YouTubers so much, I couldn’t possibly list all the YouTubers I watch but some of the people I watch are Zoella, PointlessBlog all of the people in that British YouTube group, Tyler Oakley, Troye Sivan, iiSuperwomanii, The Fine Bros, BuzzFeed Video, LaToya Forever, Tpindell, YoMuscleBoii, StilaBabe09 and so many more and I mean loads more!

I hope you liked today’s blog and found some of these things interesting about me. I obviously can’t write about everything I love but my family and friends are the most obvious so I thought I’d leave that but if any of you want to know more about me then I can always do another one of these. Thanks for reading xoxo

P.S. I have started an Instagram account for my blog, the username is @cestlavie_blog. Please follow it to keep updated and I hope you like the account.

Does Everybody Deserve a Second Chance?

Screen Shot 2014-07-02 at 17.44.36

I’m sure you’ve heard the saying “Everybody deserves a second chance” but nowadays people are being lied to more often and forgiven easily (well, that’s what I’ve been seeing). It’s disappointing to find out that someone lies to you especially a family member or close friends, even though we are lied to just to be protected, doesn’t mean we are still feeling “loved” because keeping secrets from someone shows that you aren’t protecting them, you are lying to them no matter how big or little the secret is.

Giving a second chance to someone really depends on the situation and how the person feels, for example if you’ve had an argument with your best friend because you were talking behind their back, depending how close you two were, the trust you both had in each other is probably is what is helping them to consider giving you a second chance. They are probably thinking about what you have been through together, the highs and lows. Based on that they are probably having a tough time, choosing because they don’t want to be betrayed on again or taken advantage of. No one wants their friend to take advantage of them, if you have been through it then you know how hard it is, don’t let other people around you experience that.

In the adult world, giving a second chance to a partner after cheating or an employee after messing up at work is something different. In order to give your partner a second chance takes a lot of courage and shows that you trust the person enough to take them back but remember not everyone uses these chances wisely. There are people in this world that will use you but these people can help you grow and you can become stronger as a person. They will be people who’ll shape you into the person you will become, in the end you might actually be thankful for them because they were the ones who opened your eyes to realise the bad in the world.

If you have done something wrong and if you are lucky enough to get a second chance, do not waste it. I repeat, DO NOT WASTE IT. Second chances are rarely given and they are so precious, you cannot waste them, trust is already damaged you don’t want to ruin your relationship, friendship, partnership etc. Second chances give you an opportunity to prove yourself to someone, that you aren’t a bad person, you can be trusted and that you are responsible person. “A second chance doesn’t mean anything if you haven’t learnt from your first mistake”.

I hope you enjoyed this week’s blog and remember to cherish every second chance you get in life. Thanks for reading xoxo

Let’s face it we all love and hate our parents. There are always moments when you feel like that you could kill them but then there are other moments when you feel so happy and proud that your parents are your parents. Every child will feel like this but as you grow up you will realise how important they are to you and you start to regret how you treated them when you were a little younger or a teen.

I don’t think that many children or teens realise how much our parents do for them. Just stop for a minute and think about what they do and what they have done for you. They have kept a roof over your head, fed you, clothed you, kept you warm in the cold winters and more. When I come to think of it, my parents have done a lot for me to keep me safe, well-fed etc and I am very grateful for it. If you don’t tell your parents that you’re grateful very often then why not do it now (obviously after you’ve read this) because it will give them a nice surprise and show them that you are aware if what they do for you and that you appreciate them.

You might not ever think about this but as you grow up and worry about school etc, your parents are growing older too. It might sound odd to say but their life is going too and sometimes just give them time to do what they want because after all they are spending a lot of their time on you. Give them time to relax and live their life, I guarantee they’ll love it so maybe just on a chilled weekend, give them a little treat to enjoy while you leave them stress free.

You might think that your parents get involved in your social life too often but in actual fact they probably have a right to. They can sense what is happening in your social life and normally they are right which can sometimes be annoying but they only do this for the best. After all, they just want to keep you safe and out of trouble and I don’t blame because that’s what I’d do for my children. Just remember whatever they do, they don’t mean to interfere all they want to do is make sure that you are safe and you have friends that are trustworthy and can keep you out of trouble.

Doesn’t it sound a little weird that you could be a parent soon? Life is going really quickly and soon it’s just going to hit you that you’re at the age to have children! You’ve still got time though but imagine what it was like for your parents, were they prepared for it? I sometimes imagine how will my children be like and what would I be as a parent. I just hope that I will be able to provide a home, food, clothes etc for them like my parents have done for me.

I don’t know all of you who are reading and I definitely don’t know about your parents and even if you haven’t got parents or if you have a step mum or dad or any other type of parents e.g. foster parents. I hope that you have a good adult in your life even if you aren’t biologically related, I am sure that there is an adult that helps you and provides for you in some sort of way. Just remember even if you haven’t got a parent or parents, someone does still love you even if it’s your brother, sister or any other relative.

I hope you enjoyed today’s blog and that you can show your parents or any other adult in your life appreciation and love. Thanks for reading xoxo
