10 Daily Reminders!

I feel like doing something different today. Here I commence with my 10 daily reminders to you.

1. Smile!- even if you are having a rough day (trust me I’ve experienced them). Try to smile because you don’t own all the problems in the world.

2. It doesn’t matter what others think- it really doesn’t matter what others think. If people are talking about your clothing, looks or whatever. Flaunt it, they must be envying you if they are talking about. You shouldn’t be ashamed of being of you, so enjoy yourself!

3. Don’t look back- don’t think about the embarrassing thing that happened yesterday or what happened in your relationship a year ago, the past is in the past and it should stay there. Take everything one day at a time.

4. You are human- no one is perfect, you will make mistakes but don’t dwell on them move on. You won’t always be happy but you know what c’est la vie (see what I did there).

5. Don’t give up- fight for what you think is right and for what you love. When you feel weak or that you are losing, remind yourself what you are fighting for.

6. You are beautiful- don’t listen to the haters. You are beautiful, whether that is appearance wise or personality, every person is beautiful in their own way.

7. Not everyone is judging you- not every single person you come across is judging you. Remember that everyone else on this Earth feels as insecure as you do.

8. You are enough- we’ve all doubted ourselves once or twice in our life, but we can’t change ourselves in order to impress someone. You shouldn’t change yourself in order to impress someone, be who you are. “Be your own voice, not an echo”.

9. You aren’t always in control- unfortunately, we don’t control life, it controls us but sometimes it’s for the best. You can’t predict when something will or should happen so don’t kick yourself when you do have bad days because we all have them.

10. Be fearless- is there ever something in life you regret? Bite the bullet and just go for it because you’ll never know what will happen until you do it. If you don’t do it then, you’ll think about what would’ve happened if you did do it. Don’t live in regret, be fearless.

I hope you enjoyed this blog and remember some of these things during your work or school days. Next week will be a special blog as it is my birthday next Tuesday so be prepared. Thanks for reading xoxo

Embrace the Little Things in Life

Some of may be wondering why I didn’t write a blog on Wednesday and the reason is because I was on holiday and unfortunately I wasn’t able to access any Wi-Fi so I had to postpone my blog until I got back and from the title you can probably guess what I’m going to write about this also ties in nicely with the holiday I’ve had with my friend, her family and I.

If any of you have gone to Hastings then you’ll probably know where I took this picture but if you haven’t been there or even heard of this place, this was taken on East Cliff and let me tell you, the view was amazing and because it was such a hot day, the wind on top of the cliff was perfect. My friend and I took a few pictures, embraced the view and then went to the field behind us, we had an ice cream and we just lay on the grass, talked and watched the clouds go by. Even just doing this on a holiday may sound like you are wasting your time but you aren’t. Enjoying whatever you are doing, wherever you are and taking the whole day into consideration is embracing the precious, rare moments in life. I already miss the view and being able not to have a care in the world for a few days and to just enjoy the sea breeze. Luckily, it’s the summer holiday now but I fear that I’m going to spend all my time on the internet so my aim for this summer is to spend as little time on tech this season.

One day when it was a little more cloudier, we paddled in the sea and because we both love to climb and explore we found the East Cliff and decided to climb it. We gradually got higher and found a mini cave and a big rock that we both could sit on. We sat there, watched the waves crash, the seagulls fly around and we listened to our music. It was a nice, relaxed afternoon and once again these are the kind of moments in life you want to cherish and remember forever because these are the little things in life that can mean so much and benefit us in many ways.

We spent one evening playing mini golf, which was good fun. The courses we played were ‘Adventure Golf’ and the classic ‘Crazy Golf’. The evening was well spent and after all we got to practise our golf skills. I did manage to putt a hole-in-one twice and I was very proud of myself!

Another day, we spent it doing a little bit of shopping, sipping slushies on the beach, enjoying the sun, playing more golf and just relaxing on the beach. It was a good day and I hope that everyone can experience these kind of days during the holidays because it’s something you can’t miss and it is always good to have an easy day and chill with your best friend.

I hope you enjoyed this blog and I apologise for the delay. I hope you all enjoy your summer holidays and spend your days well. Thanks for reading xoxo

What I Love…

Screen Shot 2014-07-16 at 17.06.42

I thought I’d write about some of my personal interests if any of you wanted to know a little more about me and if not then oh well! If any of the things that I like and you don’t then that is fine because you are entitled to your own opinion but if you like some things that I do then great! I’m going to include the everyday things that I love like food, moments in life, music and more. Here I commence and enjoy!

Music- If you have read my previous blog (if not, you should check it out after this) then you’ll know that my music taste is rock but there is a little twist I do also like 5SOS which I’m sure most of you have heard of. Rock songs have so many different stories and meanings behind them, I can guarantee whatever rock song you find on YouTube will have a meaning to it and just listen out for the lyrics.Don’t get me wrong I do love my rock bands and as soon as someone disrespects any of my bands, they’ll be having it. I love 5SOS because they aren’t completely pop, they are punk and rock too which is another reason as to why I like them and also their genuine personalities, fashion sense and looks.

Food- This probably seems like a stupid thing to write about but it’s one of many of things that I love and food is just… I can’t describe it! You’ve got so many different kinds of foods that you can try and enjoy. I love traditional British meals e.g. Sunday roast dinner, which is roasted chicken and potatoes with a selection of vegetables, gravy and a yorkshire pudding. I love sweet and savoury foods and a good thing about my body is that I have a high metabolism which means I can eat as much as I want. If you asked me what my favourite food was I couldn’t just give you one answer because there are so many foods that I love like spaghetti bolognese, chicken chow mien, pizza, nutella, dried mango, grapes and so much more!

Everyday things- I love it when I wake up in the morning and when my bedroom window is open because it brings in a breeze of cold, fresh air and I just love snuggling up in my duvet when I feel it, it might just be me but let me know if you love this feeling too. After a long tiring day, I like reflect on the day on the journey home and just think about what has happened, what I enjoyed and anything I need to do to improve tomorrow. I also love jumping onto my bed after school,  I just kick my shoes off, run up the stairs, drop my back and collapse onto my bed, perfection!

Personal things- I love it when someone shows me that they love or care about me because it just reassures me that I’m not alone in this world and that I do have access to people who can support me and I can trust them with my issues.

Holidays- Now I’m sure that everyone loves holidays and I especially love them because it’s where I can relax and forget everything bad that has happened and last of all have fun and explore the country!

Lazy days- Don’t you just love lazy days, chilling, movie marathons and lie-ins. My favourite films to watch are comedies and action films. I don’t seem to know a lot of people that like action films but one of the reasons as to why I like them is because I remember my dad watched them around me and I started to watch them with him. Watching action films are one of my favourite things to do with my dad.

YouTubers- What can I say, if you know me well enough you’ll know that I love YouTubers so much, I couldn’t possibly list all the YouTubers I watch but some of the people I watch are Zoella, PointlessBlog all of the people in that British YouTube group, Tyler Oakley, Troye Sivan, iiSuperwomanii, The Fine Bros, BuzzFeed Video, LaToya Forever, Tpindell, YoMuscleBoii, StilaBabe09 and so many more and I mean loads more!

I hope you liked today’s blog and found some of these things interesting about me. I obviously can’t write about everything I love but my family and friends are the most obvious so I thought I’d leave that but if any of you want to know more about me then I can always do another one of these. Thanks for reading xoxo

P.S. I have started an Instagram account for my blog, the username is @cestlavie_blog. Please follow it to keep updated and I hope you like the account.

Music: Different Taste, Different Opinions

We all have different perspectives on music. Some of us like rock, jazz, classical, pop etc which is great because why should we like the same type of music? Loads of people probably say this to you but being different is better, you’re more interesting and there is no one else like you in the world. Being unique is something no one can take away from you and one of the best ways to express that is through music. Despite whatever music you like, whatever it is that’s makes you happy and enjoy your music then who cares what music you listen to.

I often find that people are judged for their music taste but I don’t really understand why. Why judge someone for being different and liking something different to you? Music can give so many emotions to one person and comfort people. I remember once a friend asked for a music request and I said ” Nirvana’s Nevermind Album”. They questioned me why I liked Nirvana and I said that even though their music might seem “too loud and too grunge” they are a good band and make amazing music. I don’t even know to this day if they still don’t understand why I like rock music but one of the reasons I like rock music is because weirdly enough it can relax and sometimes when I’m in the mood it gives a hyper feeling. I love that one style I music can do this to me.

I used to like pop but then I realised it all sounded the same and that it was boring to my liking. I remember hearing hearing The Arctic Monkeys on a chat show and liking their music and that’s what got me into rock music. Whatever kind of music you prefer, I respect that because if it can make you feel good, relaxed or help you in any way then that is the best kind of music for you. You shouldn’t be afraid to like a different type of music to your friends because like I said before everyone is different and will like different things and it doesn’t matter if you like classical and your friends like pop or country etc because if they are your true friends they’ll respect your music choice and they might like the same kind as you. A person and I were friends but we weren’t that close but once we found out that we had the same music, we instantly became closer and I thank music for bringing me closer to someone because I’ve now found an amazing friend to hopefully spend my life with.

Some people in my generation fake their music taste and I don’t understand why. I guess they do this because they think they will “fit” in with other people but you’ll find that everyone likes different things to you and there is no point in pretending to like something. People will like you for the real you rather than the fake you. Some people act like they like pop music because everyone supposedly likes pop music but I think only a small majority of people like pop. Something I find irritating about pop music is that it is the only kind if music played on popular radio stations e.g. Capital, Kiss, Heart. I don’t know why these particular radio stations couldn’t try another genre of music but my best guess is that pop music is the most “popular” music in this century.

I hope you enjoyed this week’s post and I hope you can have pride in yourself to express your own music taste. Thanks for reading xoxo

Does Everybody Deserve a Second Chance?

Screen Shot 2014-07-02 at 17.44.36

I’m sure you’ve heard the saying “Everybody deserves a second chance” but nowadays people are being lied to more often and forgiven easily (well, that’s what I’ve been seeing). It’s disappointing to find out that someone lies to you especially a family member or close friends, even though we are lied to just to be protected, doesn’t mean we are still feeling “loved” because keeping secrets from someone shows that you aren’t protecting them, you are lying to them no matter how big or little the secret is.

Giving a second chance to someone really depends on the situation and how the person feels, for example if you’ve had an argument with your best friend because you were talking behind their back, depending how close you two were, the trust you both had in each other is probably is what is helping them to consider giving you a second chance. They are probably thinking about what you have been through together, the highs and lows. Based on that they are probably having a tough time, choosing because they don’t want to be betrayed on again or taken advantage of. No one wants their friend to take advantage of them, if you have been through it then you know how hard it is, don’t let other people around you experience that.

In the adult world, giving a second chance to a partner after cheating or an employee after messing up at work is something different. In order to give your partner a second chance takes a lot of courage and shows that you trust the person enough to take them back but remember not everyone uses these chances wisely. There are people in this world that will use you but these people can help you grow and you can become stronger as a person. They will be people who’ll shape you into the person you will become, in the end you might actually be thankful for them because they were the ones who opened your eyes to realise the bad in the world.

If you have done something wrong and if you are lucky enough to get a second chance, do not waste it. I repeat, DO NOT WASTE IT. Second chances are rarely given and they are so precious, you cannot waste them, trust is already damaged you don’t want to ruin your relationship, friendship, partnership etc. Second chances give you an opportunity to prove yourself to someone, that you aren’t a bad person, you can be trusted and that you are responsible person. “A second chance doesn’t mean anything if you haven’t learnt from your first mistake”.

I hope you enjoyed this week’s blog and remember to cherish every second chance you get in life. Thanks for reading xoxo
